Busy weekends are nothing new to Steamboat in the summertime. It’s just a way of life; there’s always so much going on. But this weekend is my particular favorite. It’s truly one of those weekends where whatever way you play, there’s something for you. Are you a biker? Then you should do something with the Tour de Steamboat. Now in its 8th year, the Tour de Steamboat (TDS) is a century ride that raised money for Sunshine Kids Foundation, an organization that brings a group of children diagnosed with Cancer to Steamboat each year for Winter Olympic Games.
So you get to ride and help support an incredible cause. The TDS kicks off on Friday night with a benefit dinner at the Steamboat Sheraton and all are welcome; then riders take to three course- 25 miles around Sydney Peak Ranch, 40 miles to Stagecoach or the big one, 110 miles over Rabbit Ears, Gore and Yellow Jacket Passes. Even if you’re not riding you can celebrate with the TDS BBQ at Little Toots Park on Saturday afternoon.
