In my mind, there is nothing better than a fall mountain bike ride. Especially this fall, with the warm days and cool evenings. As I sit in my office and stare outside at the sun shining over the colorful mountains, all I can think about is getting on my bike after work. The leaves are just magnificent this year! The warm temperatures have kept the colors at peak for almost two weeks now. Yellow aspen leaves and orange cottonwoods are covering the Yampa Valley against the deep green mountains and bright blue sky. If the backdrop isn’t enough temptation to get outside, let the smooth-cut trails call your name. They are packed down to perfection.
There is no better feeling than winding down Emerald Mountain through the trees and meadows with a cool breeze at my back and bright colors at my side. The tires orchestrate over the leaves as they crunch on the ground ahead. It is prime time to get outside and enjoy a pristine fall bike ride with the abundance of trails all over Steamboat Springs. As the weekend nears, I will be spending my time on the trails and I hope to see you out there too!
